Ostapenko easily defeated Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva in the quarterfinals following a number of gruelling three-set triumphs. The semifinal opponent was Emma Raducanu. The Latvian outlasted the British professional with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 3-0 (ret.) to enter her third final of the season.
In order to face Tatjana Maria in the semifinals, Ekaterina Alexandrova overcame Asia Muhammad, Na-lae Han, and Lulu Sun. With a quick 4-0 lead, the Russian got off to a good start. By winning the following two games, her opponent briefly displayed hints of a comeback.
