Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story has already arrived on the streaming platform Netflix on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

The limited series of 10-episode focused on telling the story of Jeffrey Dahmer. He had gruesomely took the lives of 17 innocent victims between 1978 and 1991.

After taking their lives he would either use their bodies for sexual acts, eat their remains, or preserve body parts in his apartment.

The spine-chilling series also explores the lives of his victims and the impact that is actions had on their communities which faced systemic racism and institutional failures that later helped to perpetuate the murderous killing spree.

What happened to Jeffrey Dahmer

After a 13-year-long killing spree, Jeffrey was finally caught and arrested by Milwaukee Police on July 22, 1991.

On the night of his arrest, Jeffrey had invited a 32-year-old Tracy Edwards back to his apartment.

Although Edwards eventually grew suspicious of Dahmer’s behaviour and he did managed to escape when Jeffrey’s attention was focused elsewhere.

He immediately flagged down to Milwaukee police officers who accompanied him back to Jeffrey’s apartment where the cops eventually discovered polaroid photographs of Dahmer’s dismembered victims.

Later, the investigators also found a slew of body parts and preserved skulls and two full skeletons throughout Jeffrey Dahmer’s property.

Following the arrest, Dahmer admitted to his murderous actions when questioned by the investigators and later pleaded guilty to 15 counts of murder.

His trial began on January 30, 1992, which lasted for 2 weeks while his mental state was the topic of much debate. However he was eventually being declared sane enough to understand the severity of his actions.

On February 17, 1992, He was punished with the life sentences for the 15 murders that he pleaded guilty to. The judges avoided the death penalty as it had been outlawed in Wisconsin in 1853.

3 months after his original conviction, Dahmer was extradited to Ohio where he pleaded guilty to a 16th murder, adding an extra term of life imprisonment to his sentence.

After being convicted, Jeffrey was incarcerated at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Wisconsin until his death. He passed away on November 28, 1994.

How did Jeffrey Dahmer Died?

The American serial killer was killed by one of his fellow inmate Cristopher Scarver at Columbia Correctional Institution.

On the morning of November 28, 1994, while conducting their work detail, Jeffrey along with inmates Jesse Anderson and Christopher Scarver was left unsupervised in the showers of the prison gym.

As showed in the episode 10 of the Netflix’s series Jeffrey was attacked by Cristopher with a metal bar and was found on the floors of the showers having been bludgeoned in the head and face.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but one hour later he was pronounced dead.

Following the incident, another fellow inmate, Anderson also become a victim of Scarver’s attack. Anderson died from his wounds 2 days later in hospital.

Cristopher Scarver was given 2 more life sentences for the killings that he had done in prison while Dahmer’s body was cremated and his ashes sent to his parents.
