She took her last breath in her home in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Jaimie was best known for mixing punk rock with jazz. Jaimie has been very vocal about the racial and gender equality.

Cause of Jaimie Branch’s Death?
The tragic news of Jaimie’s demise was confirmed by her Musical Label. Although, the cause of her death is yet unknown.
The Chicago-based music label International Anthem, with which the jazz composer had a contract, announced the news of her death in a statement.
The label took to their official Twitter handle and penned down, “At 9:21 pm on Monday, August 22, composer and trumpeter Jaimie Branch passed away in her home in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Her family, friends, and community are heart broken.”
The statement further added, “Jaimie was a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and teacher; she touched countless numbers of people with her music and spirit, both of which are fearless, truthful and beautiful, and will live on in hearts and ears forever.”
Jaimie’s Personal Life & Career
Jaimie Branch was born in Huntington, New York, on June 17, 1983. Later, she moved to Chicago when she was 14. In 2005, she relocated to Boston to attend the New England Conservatory of Music.
After graduating from there in Music, she returned to Chicago and collaborated with Jason Ajemian, Tim Daisy, Keefe Jackson, Ken Vandermark and Anton Hatwich.
She later went on to perform with artists from New York and Chicago such as Toby Summerfield, Frank Rosaly, Matt Schneider, Tim Daisy and Daniel Levin.
She also formed in a band titled Block and Tackle with Jason Stein, Jeb Bishop, and Jason Roebke. The band released a total of 5 albums between 2006 and 2008.
Later, in 2012, she got enrolled at Towson University for a master’s degree in Jazz. After moving back to Brooklyn in 2016, she again founded a band named Fly or Die with Tomeka Reid, Chad Taylor and Jason Ajemian.
Fly or Die band had released a self-titled album in 2017 and its sequel in 2019. Her net worth stood at $5 million.

After learning the sad news of the musicians’ death, her fans and friends are broken as they flooded the social media with tributes.
Music band Good Willsmith took to their official Twitter account and wrote, “everything Jaimie Branch worked on & every show I ever saw her play was charged with pure unique firebrand energy & so much joy. Any amount of time spent with her in person made it clear that she was all of this & more down to the core in every aspect of her life. Rest in peace.”
