Check out the top athletes in the World Athletics men’s javelin throw rankings as Neeraj Chopra rises to No 1 in 2023
The Indian javelin throw star was ranked first with 1455 points. Chopra, who is 25 years old, recently grabbed the season-opening Doha Diamond League.
The top-ranked athlete in the world right now is Neeraj Chopra, who took home the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics.

Neeraj Chopra topped the position with 1455 points, 22 points more than Grenada’s Anderson Peters. The Indian javelin throw ace surpassed Peters to take second place in the world rankings on August 30, 2022, but was riddled behind him in that position.
When Neeraj Chopra won the Diamond League 2022 finals in Zurich in September of last year, he became the first athlete from India to take home the prized trophy. However, he was unable to participate and stay in action as a result of an injury after the triumph in Zurich.
On May 5 of this year, the Indian star athlete Chopra, who presently holds the men’s javelin throw national record for India, participated in the season-opening Doha Diamond League and won with a throw of 88.67 metres. In the Doha competition, Anderson Peters finished third with a distance of 85.88m.
As he gets ready to compete on June 4 in the Netherlands in the FBK Games 2023, the inspirational atheist, Chopra will gain a lot of motivation from the top rank. On June 13, he also announced that he would take part in the 2023 Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland.
Due to the approaching Paris 2024 Olympics, Neeraj Chopra’s 2023 season is anticipated to be crucial. In addition to defending his Diamond League championship and taking home the gold in the javelin event at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, Chopra will compete at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
With 1,416 points, Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic, who took home the silver medal in Tokyo 2020, is presently ranked third. Julian Webber of Germany is just behind him. Arshad Nadeem, a Commonwealth Games champion from Pakistan, completes the top five.
