Vivrant Sharma brief bio

Vivrant Sharma was born on 30 October 1999 and is currently 23-years-old. He is an Indian cricketer who made his List A debut for Jammu & Kashmir on 21 February 2021. His debut came during the 2020–21 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he caught quite the attention with his performances.

The uncapped all-rounder is known for his wrist-spin bowling, alongside his skills with the bat and hails from Jammu and represents his stateside Jammu and Kashmir at the domestic level. During the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year, Vivrant hit 128 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 145.45, which included a 46-ball 63 against Karnataka.

Vivrant made his Twenty20 debut on 4 November 2021, this time again while playing for J&K in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which took place from 2021–22.

His impressive performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy helped his J&K side earn its first ever knockout spot in the history of the prestigious tournament.

A ₹2.6 Crore Move

Vivrant Sharma recently headlines after securing a ₹2.6 crore move to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the recently concluded IPL 2023 auction. The 23-year-old debutant made a sensation at the auction held in Kochi following an intense bid between SRH and KKR. Despite starting at a base price of ₹20 lakh, SRH secured Vivrant at 13 times his initial price for ₹2.6 crore.

Career Highlights And Achievements

Ahead of the tournament, Vivrant scored an impressive 62-ball 69 for J&K while chasing down a mammoth 343 against Madhya Pradesh, who are the defending champions of the Ranji Trophy. The tournament, which was a 50-over tournament saw Vivrant end up as the second-highest scorer for J&K. He scored an impressive 395 runs with an average of 56.42 per match.

Vivrant also managed to score two fifties in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The youngster racked up a total of 128 runs with an impressive strike rate of 145.45. More notably, the 23-year-old batter has shown big-hitting skills against both pacers and spinners alike. Vivrant has also displayed a cool head in big games and has shown an ability to adapt to any type of situation and rotate his strike when necessary.

Vivrant made his List A debut for Jammu and Kashmir in February 2021 and has scored 519 runs with the best score of 154* runs in 14 games so far and has also notched up eight wickets in the format. He made his Ranji Trophy debut on December 13 and has now played two red-ball games. He has credited his success to his brother and mother.
