Munguia got an opening to rock Kelly with a left hook in the fifth round, despite being down by three rounds. Kelly was knocked back by the shot as he tasted the canvas. Despite Kelly beating the count, Munguia again tossed Kelly back to the mat, this time with a right uppercut that split his guard. Kelly battled back to his feet, but Munguia’s power flurry sent him down for the third time. Kelly was able to get back on his feet, but the referee didn’t see enough from the Brit to allow him to continue, and the fight was called off right there.

After defeating Kelly at a catchweight of 165 pounds, Munguia declared that he is prepared to take on any task against any fighter.
