On Thursday this week, the wages Jadon Sancho will earn after signing up with Manchester United were revealed.
After quite a long wait, Manchester United reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund this Thursday for the transfer of Jadon Sancho. The 21-year-old English footballer will hopefully join up with his new Man United teammates after England take leave from, or win, Euro 2020. Read on to know how much Jadon Sancho will be earning when he returns to Manchester United.
Man Utd Jadon Sancho Wages And Transfer Fees
The Athletic reported this week that Jadon Sancho will earn an initial £250k-a-week for five years at Man United. In this way, he will be banking a total of £65m. And if you include the bonuses he will receive apart from these wages, Sancho may earn another £50k-a-week on top of that, a total of £300k-a-week, £15.6M-a-year and £78m over a five-year contract.
Having Sancho on their books will clearly not come cheap for Man United. But the Englishman has shown so much promise in his early years that the football club seems to consider him worth the investment. In one of the most expensive transfers in Bundesliga history, Sancho has cost the club a transfer fee of 85 million Euros (100 million dollars, 73 million pounds).
After scoring three times in 20 senior international appearances, Sancho is set to become the second-most expensive English player. He is just behind Harry Maguire, whom United signed two years ago from Leicester for 80 million pounds. United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may use his new winger on the right flank. With this, he looks to make the team’s attack more creative.
Man Utd also close to signing Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane
After Jadon Sancho, Manchester United has its eyes on Real Madrid’s French defender Raphael Varane. Mr. Clean’s contract at Bernabeu is due to expire in June 2022 and he is thus, Ole Gunnar’s top defensive target. Man Utd may make this move once they’re assured that Madrid will be prepared to negotiate a realistic fee for the player.
Previously, the club had been considering Villarreal’s defender Pau Torres as an alternative. But following France’s surprise exit from Euro 2020, courtesy of Switzerland, Utd stepped up the efforts to sign Varane instead.
