According to a campus-wide email, 20-year-old sophomore Jack Madison passed away peacefully in his sleep in his Ohio home. The crew and the whole of Madison was taken aback by this news.

Colorado College Vice President and Director of Athletics Lesley Irvine published a statement on behalf of the college’s men’s tennis team, expressing their deep sorrow over the loss of teammate Jack Madison. All of the athletes and students on campus will mourn the loss of Jack, who was a beloved member of the men’s tennis team.
His cause of death is not known yet.

“The tennis program is deeply saddened by the news of Jack Madison’s death,” head coach Anthony Weber said. He added, “Jack was one of the most friendly and respectful student-athletes we have had in our program. We will miss his selflessness and positive influence. Our thoughts go out to his friends and family as they cope with this tragic news.”
Jack Madison was an artist by passion
Family members have said that Madison enjoyed language, music, and the arts. Jack advocated for introspection and critical thinking among our group, as well as exposure to fresh musical talent. The CC subculture was very important to him.
He was recruited for the CC tennis squad since he was an avid tennis player. The statement went on to say that he participated completely in all aspects of campus life and truly embraced his time at CC. Jack was perceptive, extremely creative, and had a mind of his own. The gifts of his wit, insight, and generosity were shared with his friends and with us all.
Jack Madison was from Ohio and attended Columbus Academy, where she excelled academically and received four letters. At the end of his senior year, he was chosen to lead the squad as captain. After missing all of the 2021 season due to a Hernia injury, Madison returned to action for Colorado College in the fall of 2022. He wanted to become a history teacher in Columbus, so off the court he was planning to major in history and minor in journalism.

Madison had been attending Colorado College for around two years, according to his obituary in The Columbus Dispatch. According to his obituary, he was a dedicated tennis player who, along with his cousin Arie Tuckerman, competed in the State Doubles Finals for two consecutive years.
He will always treasure the paintings he created while at the Academy, where he discovered and nurtured his lifelong love of art. As a tribute to Madison, a fund will be established to help get more disadvantaged kids on the tennis court. In addition, the official cause of death has not been disclosed.
