With right knee pain, Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant will miss Game 4 of his team’s second-round series against the Golden State Warriors. Morant hurt his knee in the second half of the Warriors’ Game 3 loss on Saturday.

Jenkins verified that Morant was injured after Warriors guard Jordan Poole wrenched on his knee while presumably swiping for the ball. Morant was taken out of the game with 6:19 left in the fourth quarter when the incident occurred.
Morant later tweeted that Poole had “broken the coding,” but he swiftly erased that post. It was in response to what Warriors coach Steve Kerr said about Grizzlies wing Dillon Brooks, who was banned for Game 3 after executing a flagrant foul on Warriors player Gary Payton II in Game 2, resulting in a shattered elbow.
While Brooks was punished for one game for his role in Payton II’s injury, Poole will not face any repercussions from the league.
Warriors guard Klay Thompson was irritated by Morant’s claim. “Personally, I. I’ve had a difficult knee injury. And I don’t believe Jordan has any evil intent “Thompson explained. “I don’t think he’s powerful enough to injure someone’s knee, but we’re not out there wanting to hurt people or club them in the back of the head on a fast break. We play the game correctly.”

Morant has been outstanding in this series, averaging 38.3 points, 8.3 assists, and 6.7 rebounds per game, but the Grizzlies have survived without him for most of the season. Memphis finished the regular season 20-5 sans Morant, enabling them to win the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
However, things have become more difficult in this series. The Grizzlies fell by 32 points in 29 minutes without Morant against the Golden State Warriors. If Morant is unable to participate, Tyus Jones will most likely start in his stead. With his suspension served, Brooks should be able to return to the starting lineup as well.
Golden State leads the series 2-1, and by winning Game 1 in Memphis, they robbed the Grizzlies of home-court advantage. Memphis needs to win at least one of the last two games in San Francisco to win the series. And with Morant projected to miss Game 4, that task will be made much more difficult.
