J Cole Basketball: Where did J’Cole’s love for Basketball Start?
The 36-year old American rapper made his professional debut for his new team Patriots in BAL, scoring 3 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists while playing for 18 minutes on the court. Cole is expected to play three to six games this season as per contract.
Cole has often been practicing hoops in New York City training center and has also seen playing with and against the upcoming American basketball athletes.
The way Jermaine Cole scored his point in his BAL debut for Patriots, signified how good he is as a basketball player. The American hip-hop rapper started his love for basketball in North Carloina where he was a standout basketball player in high school.
With an academic scholarship, he tried out as a walk on at St. John’s University and was 1 of 10 call-back players during his sophomore year.
Jermaine Cole Depicts his Love for Basketball via his Songs
In July, 2020, J Cole released an article for The Players’ Tribune, writing about his goals after graduating college to eventually playing professional basketball saying “if I can blow up in the next three years, that means I’ll only be 27. That still might give me enough time to train and pursue a professional basketball career.”

Ever since Jermaine Cole made his debut mixtape in 2007, it seemed like the world of American hip-hop cultural was soon to be changed. But his legacy started since his debut studio album, Cole World released in 2011, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200.
Cole’s next albums, Born Sinner, 2014 Forest Hill Drives, 4 Your Eyes Only and KOD all got debuted at number one on US Billboard 200. He even received a Best-Rap nomination for the Grammy Awards for his Album 2014 Forest Hill Drives.
He managed to stand along with the Beatles after his 6th album Hot 100 also topped the US Billboard 200 charts, while the latter band was the only one in doing so.
