The 2023 ITTF Mixed Team World Cup’s eighteen teams were revealed by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) last month.

Men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles will all be played throughout the competition, according to Xinhua.
With its unique mixed-team format, the competition; which is scheduled to take place in Chengdu, in the Sichuan Province in southwest China; will usher in a revolutionary era for table tennis.
This historic event highlights the spirit of cooperation and teamwork in sports while simultaneously promoting diversity and gender equality.
The list includes the winners of the men’s and women’s continental team tournaments as well as the top teams that are derived from combining the men’s and women’s team ranking places, with a maximum of six teams per continent. Men’s and women’s teams will each have three to four players.
The two best teams from each group will then move on to the second round, which will similarly be a round-robin tournament (with the results of abroad teams’ first-round matches carried over). The inaugural ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023 will kick off on December 4 and will run until December 10 in Chengdu, China. Here is the full schedule, below, as per the Olympics site:

A look at ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023 points and prize money
As per a report on the Olympics site, players who take part in a team event will now receive individual global ranking points for the first time. The amount of points awarded will depend on how much each player specifically contributed to the team’s success. The winning team will have six or eight players who can score a grand total of 1,000 points.
The prize money for the tournament has not been revealed yet.
