Having pushed his luck all the way with Philadelphia 76ers, Ben Simmons realised he wasn’t going to go anywhere with his decadent personality. The player decided it was prudent to end the impasse if he was to have a chance of playing in the 2022 season with him finally budging from his stand of not returning to the team.
After declaring he wouldn’t be a part of the training’s camp with him refusing his counterparts to fly down and convince him, Simmons is set to return to the 76ers. However, after missing three preseason games, Simmons’ return was far from a straightforward return as well with details about his being back in the city revealing that this was every bit dramatic as well.
Joel Embiid Comments On Relationship With Ben Simmons And His Return To The 76ers
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Simmons did not even let the side know he was coming with him just randomly showing up at Wells Fargo Center and letting general manager Elton Brand know that he was there to fulfill his COVID-19 obligations.
Joel Embiid has now opened up on the entire situation with him revealing that although he hadn’t talked to Simmons since the end of last season, the player’s return was always a welcome one and how there was no need to make things awkward.
“That is good for the organization. That’s something that everybody wanted. I’ve always said that I believe that he gives us the best chance to win. We are a better team, with him than without, that’s for sure. I’m happy that things have resolved and we can move on and try to try to be a better team,” Embiid said.
