This year’s annual shooting showpiece event is the 36th edition ever since its inception. Altogether, the event is a seven-leg event held across different countries and featuring diverse shooters. The competitors take part in different categories like rifle, pistol, and shotgun events to win medals.

Event dates and venues
The first stage of the 2022 Shooting World Cup took place in Cairo, Egypt featuring the Rifle/Pistol round. The second stage of the event was held in Nicosia, Cyprus for Shotgun. As for the third stage, the event took place in Peru, Lima in the month of March and April, this time again for Shotgun.
For Stage 4, the event took place in April in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil featuring the Rifle/ Pistol round. Stage 5 featured the Shotgun round, this time half way across the world in Lonato del Garda, Italy. In the last two stages of the event – stage 6 and 7, all the three categories – Rifle/ Shotgun /Pistol – took place in two venues, Baku, Azerbaijan and Changwon, South Korea.
Indian Shooters tally
This time the Indian shooters won 4 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze medal in the Rifle/Pistol round in Cairo officially opening the medal tally account. In Nicosia the team won 1 silver in Shotgun, and then 1 bronze again in Shotgun in Lima. In Lonato, the shooters won 1 silver in Shotgun, and 2 gold and 3 silver in Baku and 1 gold in Changown. As such, the total medal tally for the Indian shooters so far is 16 medals.
