The Indian Super League (ISL) 2022–23’s Golden Boot competition is getting intense.

In the ISL 2022–23 season, the league’s top goal scorer receives the Golden Boot, and some of the best foreign acquisitions and young Indian strikers are vying for the prestigious prize.

Jorge Diaz of Mumbai City FC has scored the most goals so far this year and currently has 10 goals to lead the ISL Golden Boot race. With six assists, Diaz surpasses East Bengal’s Cleiton Silva and FC Goa’s Iker Guarrotxena, both of whom have scored 10 goals.

With 18 goals, Bartholomew Ogbeche shared the league lead for most goals scored in a single season and won the ISL 2021–22 Golden Boot.

With 59 goals scored, Bartholomew Ogbeche, a member of the ISL from 2018–19, also holds the record for the most ISL goals ever.

Ogbeche’s main competition is Bengaluru FC captain and 52-goal-scoring legend Sunil Chhetri.

Elano of Chennaiyin earned the ISL Golden Boot for the first time in 2014, and Coro is the only player to have won it twice. While playing for FC Goa in 2017–18 and 2018–19, the Spanish forward won back-to-back Golden Boots.

Coro is third on the list of all-time leading ISL goal scorers with 48 goals.

In Kerala Blaster’s 3-1 victory over East Bengal in the season-opening, Ukrainian midfielder Ivan Kalyuzhnyi scored twice, igniting a competition for the ISL 2022–23 Golden Boot.

The ISL 2022–23 season will feature a total of 110 games. The season is halfway over, but with each subsequent matchday, the competition for the Golden Boot becomes more and more interesting.
