The transfer market has been buzzing with some exciting ins and outs and many teams have added as well as let go of some players. Northeast United FC is one such team, so let’s find out this season’s transfers in and out of the North-eastern team.

Northeast United FC Transfer News And Players For ISL 2021-22

Ashutosh Mehta

The North-eastern club bid farewell to one of their most important players, Ashutosh Mehta who had a fantastic ISL season in 2020-21. The 30 year old defender has now decided to join  ATK Mohun Bagan and will look to strengthen the Mariners’ defence when he dons the green and maroon jersey in the upcoming season.

Mehta appeared in 18 matches this season and played for a total of 1406 minutes. He went on to provide two assists and also scored a goal for the Highlanders. The North-eastern team was able to make it to the semi-finals after an unbeaten run of 10 matches.

However, they lost to ATK Mohun Bagan in the semi-final. Nonetheless, Mehta was given the credit he deserved for his outstanding performance by being called up to play for the national team. The coach of ATK MB Antonio Lopez has high expectations from Ashutosh, who he feels is a complete player.

Northeast United FC New Players

There has been no news so far about any new arrivals to the North-eastern club. However, three players have left the squad to carve new paths. They are namely Luis Machado who was worth Rs.33.33m in the Indian Super League market (Free Transfer to Radomiak), Benjamin Lambot (Free Transfer to RFC Luttich) and Ashutosh Mehta (Free Transfer to ATK Mohun Bagan).

Northeast United FC are usually late when it comes to signing foreign players and we can see that happening this season as well. With the new season scheduled to kick off from November, can the Highlanders exceed expectations this time around as well? I think under the leadership of Khalid Jamil, they most certainly can.
