Isimemen Etute had ended up murdering 40 year old Jerry Smith after getting a blowjob from him
Nobody should be battered to death. That being said, on a dating app, you should never lie about your gender. When you do that, you are putting your life in jeopardy.
Isimemen Etute, a former player, was found not guilty of second-degree murder in the death of Jerry Smith, 40, of Blacksburg, in 2021. The jury debated for almost three hours before reaching a decision at about 6:30 p.m., according to The Roanoke Times.
Isimemen Etute Found Not Guilty After Murdering Jerry Smith Who Pretended To Be A Female On Tinder
Prosecutors had previously told the jury that when Etute, then 18, learned Smith was a male, he grew upset and fatally attacked him. At Friday’s closing statements, one of the prosecutors said that Etute told police and the jury conflicting versions of events and that the charge may have been enough for him to modify his evidence.

Turk further claimed that police failed to interview Etute about Smith’s knife or his terror while in the flat, two inquiries whose replies may have shown if Etute was scared for his life and acted in self-defense.
When Etute testified earlier this week, he said he felt “violated” when he realized that the Tinder match he thought was a woman was actually a male.
Etute said on Thursday that Smith grabbed for a gun, which he mistook for a pistol. Smith did not have a gun, but a knife was discovered between his mattress and box spring, according to authorities.
Etute said he hit and kicked Smith five times to get time to flee the residence.
Etute had oral contact in the dark with a guy he mistook for a woman. And he claimed he went back to confirm if it was a man or a woman.
According to prosecutors, Etute informed detectives that he had matched with a lady named “Angie” on Tinder. And had met up with her for oral sex on April 10.
Officials claim Etute then told officers that he and “Angie” planned another meeting for May 31. But when he found she was truly a guy, he attacked her.
Etute told detectives he hit the victim multiple times in the face and stomped on him, according to prosecutors.
