Viral images featuring a striking red-and-white Pyjama Bird have sparked widespread speculation about the creature’s existence with many wanting to know if its real or fake
The bird, showcased in a circulating photograph across the internet, is purportedly real, gaining prominence following a post by user @flankes838811 on X (formerly Twitter) on January 14.

Wildlife, a Facebook user, also shared an identical image, affirming the bird’s authenticity. As of the time of this writing, @flankes838811’s post has amassed over 600 likes and 10.7K views.
Contrary to these claims, however, sources like Snopes assert that the image is a fabrication, and the Pyjama Bird does not exist. The picture surfaced on social media in mid-January 2024, depicting a spectacular red and white bird perched on a tree branch.
Is Pyjama Bird Real or Hoax
Despite widespread sharing on Facebook and X, the bird is a hoax, as confirmed by sites like Snopes, which found no credible information on a “pyjama bird” through Google searches or reverse-image analysis.
Further analysis by Snopes revealed signs of artificial manipulation in the image, such as distorted claws and a seemingly permanently closed beak. Smiling Dog Yoga’s Bird Wings’ database also attested that there is no bird species called the “Pyjama Bird.”
Consequently, Snopes dismissed the claim as false, highlighting the use of AI in creating the image. Similar instances of misinformation have occurred in the past. For instance, in April 2023, images circulated online purportedly showing an octopus-turtle hybrid discovered in Kentucky.
Despite claims by The Somerset Insider, Snopes debunked the creature’s existence as another fake creation. In May 2023, photos of Felis Salamandra, a glossy black cat with distinctive yellow eyes and patterns, bewildered internet users.
However, scientists determined that no such cat species existed, and the images were fabricated. In July 2023, a picture of the Himalayan Monkey Flower, claiming to bloom once every 20 years with monkey-like faces on the blossoms, gained traction on the internet.
Yet, investigations revealed that the images were also generated by artificial intelligence, exposing the assertion as false.
