The ‘Titan’, owned by OceanGate Expeditions, disappeared during a tourist trip to the famous Titanic wreckage. According to estimates, the oxygen supply inside the vessel, if still functional, could last for as little as one day.

These noises, picked up by a Canadian military surveillance aircraft, suggest that the missing crew may still be alive and signaling for help. The Explorers Club, a global organization promoting scientific exploration, confirmed this in a letter obtained by The Independent. The Club revealed that two of its members are onboard the missing vessel.
While an alleged audio claiming to be from the sub has gone viral on Twitter, nothing alludes to it being real with no such audio being officially released.
In a heartfelt statement, Professor Hannaford, founder of World Extreme Medicine and close friend of British billionaire explorer Hamish Harding, expressed hope, stating, “Hamish is so accomplished, extremely bright, a great pilot and engineer – if there’s anybody who can fix their way out of this situation, Hamish is one of them.”
The missing Titanic submarine explorers face an unprecedented crisis
Among the missing are Hamish Harding, the CEO, and founder of OceanGate Expeditions, Stockton Rush, Paul-Henri Nargeolet, a famed French diver, and Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood with his son Suleman Dawood. The Titan disappeared on the morning of 18 June, during its descent. Approximately an hour and 45 minutes later, the communication with its support vessel, the Canadian research vessel Polar Prince, was lost.
As the search and rescue operation intensifies, past safety concerns about the submersible’s design and development by OceanGate Expeditions have resurfaced.
Titanic’s ghost looms over The Atlantic
The Titanic wreck, the infamous British ocean liner that sunk on its maiden voyage in April 1912 after hitting an iceberg, is located about 900 miles east of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and 400 miles south of St John’s, Newfoundland.
A colossal search effort is underway in an area larger than Connecticut. US and Canadian aircraft have scoured over 7,600 square miles of open sea, Captain Jamie Frederick of the US coast guard revealed at a press conference on Tuesday. In addition to aircraft, sonar buoys have been deployed by the Canadian military, and a commercial vessel equipped with a remote-controlled deepwater submersible is searching near the site.
While the fate of those aboard the Titanic tourist submarine remains uncertain, the detected underwater sounds offer a glimmer of hope amidst this harrowing ordeal.
