When Real Madrid plays Deportiva Minera in the Copa del Rey, the two football players namely Lorenzo and Diego Aguado make their debuts in the defence with many claiming that they were brothers by relation.

The two main new faces in Real Madrid’s starting lineup versus Deportiva Minera have the same last name but are unrelated and are not brothers. In the Copa del Rey Round of 32, Lorenzo and Diego Aguado will make their debut appearances on the field with the first squad.

With inclusion of Lorenzo Aguado and Diego Aguado in multiple matchday squads, Carlo Ancelotti gives them opportunity to make their debuts, and they do so as start in a defence that also features Fran García and Raúl Asencio, both of whom are products of the junior program.

Lorenzo Aguado: Lorenzo Aguado Herrera is 22 years old and was born in Madrid on September 19, 2002. Prior to moving to Castilla, he made a name for himself at Real Madrid C the year after spending the 2021–2022 season on loan at Navalcarnero.

He has made 11 appearances in Primera RFEF this season, six of which have been as a starter, and has one goal and one assist to his credit. Lorenzo participated in the summer tour in the United States, where he played a few minutes in the Clásico match, and he routinely trains with the first team. He is renowned as a right-back for his outstanding physical attributes and work ethic.

“We’re at the best academy in the world. I’ve progressed from stage to stage, the work we do is unbelievable. I’ll have to make room for this jersey and hang it in a nice frame somewhere,” he said.

Diego Aguado: Diego Aguado, a young centre-back with a left foot, was born in Madrid on February 7, 2007.  He is one of the most promising players from the White team’s development academy, and he is only 17.

He made his Real Madrid Castilla debut, played often for the Spanish national team’s lower divisions, and is a consistent starter for the young team, where he has excelled in the young League. His pace and skill with the ball have impressed, and he can also play as a left-back.

“I’m delighted and I’d like to thank all my coaches, especially Arbeloa, this moment would never have happened without him,” he said.
