Desire is of Ivorian and French descent. His cousins Yann Gboho and Marc-Olivier Doue, as well as his brother Guela Doue, are also professional football players.
At age five in 2011, Desire Doue started playing football for Rennes’ youth academy.
Desire Doue career
Desire Doue trained with the senior squad in February 2021 after starting his senior career with their reserves in 2021. Doue made his professional debut for Rennes on August 7, 2022, when he came on as a substitute in a 1-0 Ligue 1 loss to Lorient at home.
On October 6, Doue scored his first goal in Europe in the 89th minute to help Rennes defeat Dynamo Kyiv 2-1 at home in the UEFA Europa League. He was 17 years, 4 months, and 4 days old when he scored the goal, making him the youngest French player to ever score in European club tournaments.
Doue was brought on from the bench eighteen minutes prior to being substituted out in the closing minutes of the 3-1 loss against Lyon on April 9, 2023.
In a 3-1 victory over Nantes on October 1, 2023, Doue scored his first goal of the 2023–24 Ligue 1 campaign. He played as a left winger for Rennes against Lyon on January 26, 2024, helping Martin Terrier score the first goal and scoring the second in a 3–2 victory.
He moved to Paris Saint-Germain, another Ligue 1 team, on August 17, 2024, for a total of €50 million. Desire agreed to a deal that will last until June 30, 2029. By doing this, he turned down a deal from Bayern Munich, a German team.
Doue was first called up to the France national team on March 13, 2025, and he made his debut against Croatia in the quarterfinal of the 2024–25 UEFA Nations League.
