MLB The Show 23 from Sony is due to be released, and gamers will be happy to learn that it supports cross-platform play and multiplayer on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch

MLB The Show 23, despite being distributed by Sony, will once again be a part of Xbox Game Pass starting in March 2023. If Xbox fans don’t want four days of early access, it will be another day-one release for Game Pass. The full crossplay online multiplayer is one of the best features of the baseball series, which is fantastic every year.

Is MLB the show 23 cross platform?

Since MLB The Show 23 supports cross-platform multiplayer on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, it is a crossplay title. It is available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Regrettably, it will be another year before the series is released on PC.

Although PS4 and PS5 as well as Xbox One and Series X/S are capable of cross-gen multiplayer, some functions are only available on next- and current-gen consoles. Stadium Creator is still only available on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, MLBTheShow announced on Twitter. A number of additional features have also been added.

Tempest 3D AudioTech and the haptic feedback of the DualSense controller are both advantageous for the PS5. The next-generation Xbox and PlayStation consoles also feature dynamic 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.

The workings of cross-progression

On PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, MLB The Show 23 offers cross-play and cross-platform multiplayer in addition to cross-progression. You must create a series account and link all of your major PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and Nintendo Online profiles, according to the game’s FAQ. If you haven’t already registered for the series, go here.

Of course, in order to cross-progress between platforms, you also need to own a copy of MLB The Show 23 on each of those platforms. By doing so, you’ll be able to enter your account on other devices and immediately access your most recent save. There is no complimentary next-generation update, just so you know. To upgrade to a PS5 or Series X/S, you must pay $10 if you purchased the Standard edition for either the PS4 or Xbox One.

Early access begins on March 24 and the March 28 premiere of MLB The Show 23. You will have to wait until March 28th for it to appear on Xbox Game Pass, even though it is joining the programme.
