KSI surely knows how to stay in the news, and this time, it’s different, know about his religion and if he’s a Muslim
Amidst all the controversy surrounding a racial slur and a missed kiss, KSI decides to go spiritual.
KSI spotted in Bradford’s al-hikam mosque amid racial slur scandal
The boxer uttered a racist slur that the South Asian community finds extremely insulting in a now-deleted video that was posted by the YouTube collective Sidemen, of which KSI is a founding member.
The next day, in response to the reaction, KSI posted a lengthy apology on Twitter, followed by his intention to stop using social media.
Is KSI Muslim and what religion does he follow as he’s spotted in Bradford’s Al-Hikam mosque during racial slur scandal
In his “Googling Myself” video, KSI revealed that he is agnostic and believes in a higher existence, but doesn’t align under one.
Following his apologies on Twitter, KSI also gave a speech in person during a recent boxing match that was originally planned to promote KSI’s bout on May 13 against professional boxer Joe Fournier.
“I would like to take this occasion to express my heartfelt regret for my words and deeds,” he said. “There are no justifications for what I said, and I acknowledge that I have disappointed and upset a lot of individuals who look up to me.”
“The negative prejudices that have persisted in this country for far too long have only been strengthened by my ignorance,” claimed KSI. He continued by saying he wanted to use his platform for good and making a commitment to further his education and win back the confidence of those he had offended.
KSI Sudden Visit To Al-Hikam Institute
On Tuesday, April 5, KSI was seen at the Bradford-based Al-Hikam Institute. During the visit, the 29-year-old was captured on camera listening to Imam Muhammad Asim Hussain while donning a crimson scarf.
“With the intention of malice, even those who probably sat on the side, they probably didn’t understand. They might have just been like laughed off,” he says.
The imam refers to KSI by saying, “He’s come to learn about what it is; he’s never been in a mosque.”
The Al-Hikam Institute: What Is It?
According to ONS data from 2021, Bradford has a sizable Muslim population, with 30.5% of the city’s residents identifying as Muslims. Al-Hikam is a place where they preach Islam and encourage people to embrace it.
