Jarell Amorin Quansah, born on January 29, 2003, in Warrington, England, had emerged as one of the most promising young defenders in English football. Representing Liverpool in the Premier League, he had earned a reputation for his composure, ball-playing ability, and aerial strength. His journey began at the age of five, when he joined Liverpool’s academy after playing for local side Woolston Rovers.
Jarell’s parents are Sam Quansah (father) and Michelle Quansah (mother) and he has two siblings, Keenan (brother) who plays for Southport FC and Aliyah (sister). He was born in a Christian family and was named after his grandfather Samuel who is a former Ghana football team player.
Jarell is currently unmarried and single.
Citizenship: England. Height: 1,90 m; Position: Centre-Back
Quansah signed his first professional contract with the club on February 4, 2021. During the 2020–21 season, he captained Liverpool’s under-18 team to the FA Youth Cup final, playing alongside names like Conor Bradley and Billy Koumetio. In the following campaign, he led the UEFA Youth League side while contributing to the Premier League 2 reserves and helping the team clinch the Lancashire Senior Cup.
His growing influence earned him a place on Liverpool’s senior bench during domestic competitions, and although he didn’t feature at first, his consistent performances led to a loan move to Bristol Rovers in January 2023. He made his senior debut later that month in a 5–1 defeat to Morecambe, where his individual performance drew positive attention. His display against Ipswich Town in a goalless draw stood out even more, with his manager expressing strong belief in his potential.
Quansah’s first-team debut for Liverpool came on August 27, 2023, when he came off the bench in a 2–1 victory over Newcastle United. He scored his first goal for the club on December 14 in a Europa League match against Union Saint-Gilloise. His contributions continued into the domestic competitions, featuring in the 2024 EFL Cup final, where Liverpool defeated Chelsea 1–0 after extra time to secure the trophy.
Internationally, he represented England across various age groups and played a vital role in the 2022 UEFA Under-19 European Championship triumph. His semi-final goal against Italy and an assist in the final against Israel helped him earn a place in the tournament’s best XI. He made his U20 debut in a win against Germany in March 2023 and featured in the FIFA U-20 World Cup later that year. His U21 debut came in October 2023, and by May 2024, he had received his first senior England call-up for the European Championship.

Known for his versatility, Quansah had the ability to play as both a centre-back and a right-back. His strengths included precise passing, calmness under pressure, and aerial dominance. He remained eligible to play internationally for Ghana, Scotland, and Barbados through ancestry, although his focus had remained with England. His footballing roots extended within the family, as his brother Keenan Quansah played for Southport in the National League North.
