Israel continued its offensive on Iranian territory for a second consecutive day, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the campaign was far from over and would intensify in the coming days. His remarks came amid reports that Iran’s energy infrastructure had been targeted for the first time, with Iranian state media confirming a fire at the South Pars gas field in Bushehr province.

Netanyahu reportedly claimed that Israel’s strikes had set back Iran’s nuclear program by several years and warned that the recent attacks paled in comparison to what was being planned. He insisted that every target linked to Iran’s clerical regime would be hit. Tehran, meanwhile, responded by cancelling nuclear talks with the United States that had been scheduled to take place on Sunday. Oman, which had agreed to host the negotiations, confirmed the cancellation.

In the midst of the ongoing Israel-Palestine and now Israel-Iran crisis, a social media user has gone viral on Twitter/X by the name of VividProwess. The account which has an Israeli flag in its name claims to be living in Israel and regularly posts updates about the war and other developments in the country.

However, according to a string of social media users, VividProwess is actually an Indian living in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India who goes by the name Ashutosh Shukla and is catfishing as an Israeli for Twitter/X’s payout. These speculations first began when a Twitter/X user by the name of Ashutosh Shukla posted on the platform with VividProwess soon going onto post the exact same thing, leading many to believe Ashutosh had forgotten to switch his account. Some users have also claimed Ashutosh is from Bihar or Kanpur.

A community note on his post claiming he had run to the bomb shelter in Israel had also gone onto claim that Vivid was known for creating clickbait content and actually lived in the slums on Lucknow with Grok going onto claim the same.

These speculations further gained fire after The Adam Friedland Show podcast spoke about the account as well, talking about how VividProwess was actually from India claiming to be seeing bombing live in Israel and hiding in a bomb shelter. Over the years, scores of Indians have been found catfishing as Americans along with running Donald Trump fan accounts, a phenomenon which has gained traction since Elon Musk brought in the payout cycle.

VividProwess has over time faced immense backlash for being an engagement farmer along with his Islamophobic posts. However, it is yet to be officially confirmed if the account is indeed run by Ashutosh Shukla with some also claiming that the owner of VividProwess is indeed an Israeli Jew named Yair Michaeli. The real identity of the person behind the pro-Israel account isn’t known yet though.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that dialogue was unjustifiable while Israeli attacks—described by him as “barbaric”—were still ongoing. Iranian media reported that nearly 60 people, including 29 children, had died following a strike on a residential housing complex. In total, Iran said more than 78 people were killed in the first wave of attacks, and scores more in the second, after missiles reduced apartment blocks to rubble across Tehran.

The Israeli military claimed to have targeted over 150 sites, including nuclear facilities at Natanz and Isfahan, while holding back from striking the heavily fortified Fordow enrichment plant. A senior Israeli official was quoted as saying that nine key nuclear scientists—considered instrumental in advancing Iran’s atomic capabilities—had been killed. Israel has justified its actions by reiterating that it views Iran’s nuclear ambitions as a direct existential threat.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that if Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei continued to authorize strikes, then “Tehran will burn.” He urged Iranian citizens to rise up against their leaders and called on global powers to recognize the scale of the threat. Iran’s military reportedly considered closing the Strait of Hormuz, a critical artery for global oil shipments. This announcement, coupled with attacks on energy infrastructure, caused global crude prices to spike by approximately 7% on Friday.
