Is Guns and Gulaabs a hit or flop, box office worldwide collection and reviews
The Raj & DK team of Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, known together as Raj & DK, has already produced fantastic works like Go Goa Gone and The Family Man, so it is obvious for the audience to expect a larger-than-life series from them.
However, the paved route appears to have been interrupted with the publication of their most recent dark comedy, Guns & Gulaabs.
The Family Man 1 and 2, with Manoj Bajpayee in the title role, as well as Farzi with Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Bhuvan Arora, helped the award-winning team become very well known. Now, however, the director team is being criticised for creating an unremarkable series in their most recent series, Guns & Gulaabs.
Raj & DK have introduced the public to the era of black criminal comedy with the release of Guns & Gulaabs. High anticipation was sparked by a number of elements, such as the excellent cast that included Rajkummar Rao and Dulquer Salmaan, but it was ultimately dashed.
The Plot Story Of Guns & Gulaabs
The seven-episode series, which is set in the made-up village of Gulabganj, veers in and out of ridiculousness as an opium deal entangles a lovesick mechanic and a big-city police officer.
Guns & Gulaabs: Hit Or Flop
According to reports, the series’ script is a mess, and the script hasn’t received much attention. This minimised the series because it lacked the lustre and gloss needed to appeal to a film-educated audience. More thoughtless “dhushum dhushum” or stupid romanticism may be seen in the series.
The seven-episode series’ central plot, which centres on drug distribution, quickly becomes entangled with a school romance, a father-son argument, and a cop who is torn between his wife and a lover.
Though the movie contained all the potential layers—love, rage, and humour—and was inspired by the “misfits” of the world, it didn’t lift the mundane.
There is little depth to the storytelling, which induces confusion. Though the series maintains its creators’ signature style, its plot isn’t great. While it is a good celebration of pulp fiction, it somehow ruins the fun.
The series’ female actors weren’t given enough screen time, and their roles were almost nonexistent. The show also lacks unpredictable twists and surprises.
Rajkummar Rao In The Guns & Gulabs
Rajkummar Rao portrays a mechanic with a pure heart who tries to escape his mafia father’s grasp. His endearing expressions and incredible ability to inhabit a character control an otherwise lifeless screenplay.
