On September 8, inside the La Riviera nightclub in Madrid, the Portuguese Matheus Nunes was taken into custody by the National Police for allegedly snatching a cell phone from another male.
After missing out on the Portugal team during the international break, Matheus Nunes was spending the weekend in the Spanish city with his pals. The athlete was taken into custody at 5:30 am, and according to the police report, he stole a 58-year-old man’s phone from the club’s restroom.

Footballer Matheus Nunes was reportedly found in possession of someone else’s phone when police reached the site. After being placed under arrest and brought to the Arganzuela police station, the midfield player called his attorney and was eventually freed on bond. Additionally, the paper notes that Nunes is awaiting trial.
After a sluggish start to the current season, Matheus Nunes was reportedly barred from playing for Roberto Martinez’s Portugal national side during the most recent international break.
In the upcoming weeks and months, Nunes is likely to assume more responsibility in the starting lineup as Manchester City attempts to adjust to Rodri’s prolonged absence from the defensive midfield position. Nunes is currently unmarried and single.
Because Kevin De Bruyne’s injury has further limited Manchester City’s center options for the time being, Matheus Nunes was given the chance to start for the team in Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava.

According to the complaint, Nunes grabbed the phone out of rage and wouldn’t give it back. When officers confirmed that Nunes still had the phone, they handcuffed the football player and brought him to a national officers’ station in the Arganzuela neighbourhood of Madrid.
Matheus Nunes was later released after legal intervention, but according to El Mundo, he will now likely be charged with a crime and put on trial for the event that happened during the September international break.
After arriving in England on Wednesday afternoon from Slovakia, Manchester City and Matheus Nunes will begin preparing for their Saturday afternoon Premier League matchup against Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.
