Bryan Mbeumo career
Bryan Mbeumo relocated to England on August 5, 2019, signing a five-year contract with Championship team Brentford for a club-record £5.8 million. In recognition of his efforts, Mbeumo received nominations for the 2020 London Football Awards’ EFL Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year titles.
Early in the 2021–22 season, Mbeumo was used as a forward with Ivan Toney. By the time he made his eleventh Premier League appearance, he had hit the woodwork seven times and scored two goals. Mbeumo demonstrated his versatility by occasionally playing as a wing defender in a 3-4-3 formation during the 2022–23 preseason friendly.
In the early months of the 2024–25 season, Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa once again dominated Brentford’s forward line after Ivan Toney left and new forward signing Igor Thiago sustained a long-term injury.
Mbeumo was nominated for Premier League Player of the Month in August and October of 2024 after scoring three goals in three league games. He was also nominated for the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month award for his October efforts.
