WWE changed after Vince McMahon’s return, know if its sold to Elon Musk
After his first retirement last July, his daughter Stephanie McMahon became Chairwoman and Co-CEO with Nick Khan.
Meanwhile, Paul “Triple H” Levesque was promoted to CEO and Head of Creative Development. Due to his return, the 77-year-old was promoted to the position of Executive Chairman and three board members were dismissed as a result.
His reappearance coincided with the announcement that WWE was put up for sale, which boosted the company’s stock price.
Is Elon Musk buying the WWE company as rumors of it being sold go viral
Entertainment giants like Netflix, Amazon, Disney, and others have been mentioned as potential backers of wrestling enterprises. Some were even disturbed by initial reports that the agreement had been finalised before it became clear that Saudi Arabia had not yet signed on the dotted line. Elon Musk’s name was added to the growing list of those who owned WWE.
Even yet, it should go without saying that the whole thing is merely a rumour and is not true. Kayfabe News, a parody news website, is where the story first appeared. According to the article, Elon Musk bought WWE for $44 billion and made the announcement on Twitter.
It was also comically mentioned that Musk’s company, Twitter, was on the market and Vince McMahon intended to buy it. While a WWE Hall of Famer dared the 51-year-old entrepreneur, Elon Musk decided to buy the company.
There is no statement from Elon Musks side
First of all, contrary to what is said in the report, the billionaire did not issue a statement on his Twitter account. Second, once you get into the meat of the story, you’ll see that the news is actually portrayed as a comedy.
It says that “Musk was photographed entering WWE’s Connecticut headquarters carrying a bushel of apples, accompanied by the quip: “How do you like them apples, Vince?”
This is a parody of the famous photo of Elon Musk walking into Twitter headquarters in 2022, holding a sink. The CEO of Twitter was invited by none other than The Game, but he is not on his way to Stamford to purchase the promotion there.
Triple H discussed Elon briefly during an interview on The Good Time Show in February of 2016. Soon after, the 14-time World Champion jokedly challenged Musk to a match on Mars.
“If you want to disrespect our business, I will anytime, anyplace, anywhere [fight you]. Elon Musk, if you’ve got the guts, if you have what it takes to do this.. going up into space, heading to Mars with a team from the Performance Center, where we then put on the largest spectacle the Universe has ever seen – WrestleMania Mars!”
It appears that Elon Musk is not interested in purchasing the Stamford-based organisation at this moment. However, recent events in wrestling have shown that nothing is predictable, either within or without the sport.
Posts spread the notion that WWE had been sold to Saudi Arabia.
DAZN’s Steven Muehlhausen made an unsubstantiated allegation that the wrestling company had been acquired by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) in a now-deleted tweet. On the other hand, as of this writing, no agreement has been finalised. Many people, including CBS Sports and Sean Ross Sapp, stated that they couldn’t confirm these rumours.
