Blaise Metreweli appointed as new Chief of MI6
The British government on Sunday appointed Blaise Metreweli as the new Chief of MI6. Following the move, Blaise is now the first woman to hold the powerful position, after previously serving as Director General of Technology and Innovation within the agency. She is informally known as “Q” and will now be known as “C.” Metreweli will notably make reports directly to Foreign Secretary David Lammy, and she will take responsibility for collecting and analyzing overseas intelligence, guiding cyber and security strategies, and managing partnerships with global intelligence networks. Metreweli will come in as a successor to Richard Moore, who previously led the agency for five years.

Blaise Metreweli is an intelligence officer and newly appointed chief of MI6 who was born in 1977. She is currently 47 years old, and she has spent over two decades working in the intelligence sector. Metreweli joined MI6 as a case officer in 1999 and she has held a variety of roles across Europe and the Middle East. She can speak fluently in Arabic, and she has also worked with MI5, which is the UK’s domestic intelligence service.
Blaise Florence Metreweli who is British was born in the London borough of Brent in 1977 in a Christian family and is of Georgian ancestry. Her surname is a German spelling of the Georgian family name Metreveli and she studied anthropology at Pembroke College, Cambridge after completing her A Levels at Westminster School. In 1997 she was also a member of the crew which won the Women’s Boat Race.
Blaise’s father was Konstantine Metreveli was a radiologist in the Royal Army Medical Corps and he published numerous scientific papers about radiology. From 1986 to 2001 held the position of Chair of Diagnostic Radiology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Professor Metreweli was born during World War II in the Ukraine, and owes everything to his parents and English Education: Latymer (London), Cambridge and Oxford, graduating in 1967 and her mother’s maiden name is Borkovska but nothing else is known about her.
Her relationship status hasn’t been officially revealed and it is unknown if she is married or if she has a husband or boyfriend. She isn’t on social media.
