Alexander Isak was recently honored as the men’s Sela Player of the Month for December, earning the award for the second consecutive month. The Swedish striker scored an impressive eight goals in seven appearances throughout December, including a memorable hat-trick in the win against Ipswich Town at Portman Road. This made him the first Newcastle player to score three times in a Premier League match since Ayoze Pérez achieved the same feat against Southampton in 2019.

Years earlier, his mum and dad left war-torn Eritrea in search of a better life and they emigrated to Solna, a suburb outside of Stockholm, where Isak was born but has always been loyal to his Eritrean culture.
His father Teame was a teacher and Teame and his wife decided it was time to leave their country behind, and they were welcomed to Sweden with open arms.
Alexander was born in 1999 in Solna in a Christian family but the name of his mother isn’t known. isak is currently unmarried and single.

Reflecting on his performance, Isak shared that as a striker, the thought of scoring a hat-trick is always in the back of his mind once he has already scored a couple of goals. He explained that there had been several occasions when he had scored twice but couldn’t quite manage the third, so he was delighted to finally achieve the milestone. He also mentioned that the hat-trick was a fitting conclusion to what had been an excellent away performance and a very positive month for the team.

Isak, who had previously won the Sela Player of the Month award for November as well, expressed his determination to continue repaying the fans’ support with strong performances on the field. He noted that his recent form, which included scoring in six consecutive league games, was a testament to his commitment to the team. He emphasized that while he personally was enjoying his form, the team’s collective efforts were equally important.
Over the past couple of months, Isak believed that Newcastle had delivered some truly exceptional performances, playing with bravery, energy, and intensity both at home and away. He shared his satisfaction with how things were progressing for both himself and the team, adding that their improved level of play would benefit them in the second half of the season.
