Star-Studded Press Conference Builds Excitement for iQIYI Original ‘GELBOYS’
Director Boss Naruebet Kuno Brings Youth Culture to Life in GELBOYS.
iQIYI continues to expand its original content lineup with the highly anticipated iQIYI Original series GELBOYS, a fresh and modern teen romance set to premiere in 2025. The series is helmed by award-winning director Boss Naruebet Kuno, known for hits like I Told Sunset About You, My Ambulance, and more. Starring New Chayapak Tunprayoon, Pide Monthapoom Sumonvarangkul, PJ Mahidol Pibulsonggram, and Leon Zech, the series brings a new generation of talent to the spotlight.
The official press conference, held at CentralWorld, saw an overwhelming turnout of fans eager to celebrate this exciting project. The event opened with host Toptap Napat, followed by key figures behind the series, including Parnsuk Tongrob, Co-Managing Director of iQIYI Thailand; director Boss Naruebet Kuno; producer Tang Pattaranad and cinematographer Tang Tawanwad.
The highlight of the evening was an exclusive performance by the GELBOYS themselves, who gave fans a sneak peek at the series’ original track “LOVE GEL.” The energy continued to build with a special stage by BUS (Because of You I Shine), premiering the official OST “No-status Status” for the first time, driving excitement to new heights.
The event concluded with a commemorative photo session featuring iQIYI executives, partners, and special guests, including Yong Songyos, CEO of Tada Entertainment. Several high-profile celebrities also attended to show their support, such as Tor Thanapob, PP Krit, JJ Kritsanapoom, Thanaerng Kanyawee, Sky Wongravee, Bell Supol, GoyNattyDream,Oab Oabnithi, and more.
Director Boss Naruebet Kuno shared his vision for the series, stating, “The concept for GELBOYS was inspired by youth culture and the growing trend of nail art as a form of self-expression that transcends gender and age. This series captures the complexities of teenage relationships, where the main characters agree to keep their status undefined—leading to unexpected twists and emotional depth. With its ‘Romantic So Cute’ approach and coming-of-age themes, this show offers a fresh perspective on modern love and identity.
