Speaking to ANI, BCCI’s Vice-President, Rajeev Shukla revealed the latest development. Jay Shah: “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced to complete the remaining matches of VIVO Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) considering the monsoon season in India in the months of September-October this year.”

While England has also sprung up as a viable venue across the last couple of weeks owing to England and India competing in a test series in the country, the BCCI decided to opt for familiar territory. The 2020 edition of the tournament had been conducted in UAE as well owing to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Despite the situation in India improving by the day, the BCCI has decided to take no further risks this time around. The competition had to be curtailed midway owing to a slew of cases in manifold teams after the bio-bubble was breached.

The participation of international players remains a searing headache for the BCCI at the moment with the September resumption set to clash with a slew of ongoing events.
