Know if your tickets will work on the reserve day as well and the refund policy for the IPL 2023 final

The IPL 2023 championship game between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans had to be postponed to its reserve day on Monday because of severe rain on Sunday (May 28) in Ahmedabad.

The game had to be called off due to severe rain

Fans were extremely disappointed by that, especially those who had flocked to the renowned Narendra Modi Stadium to watch the top match. Because of the severe rain, thunderstorms, and lighting, the crowd was forced to take refuge in the stands.

Despite having a cut-off time of 12:06 am for a five-over game on each side, officials decided not to play a rain-shortened game at around 11 pm IST. Now, if the weather cooperates, a whole game might be played on Monday.

Can fans watch the reserve day match with the same tickets?

Fans can use the same ticket to watch the final, according to the IPL’s Twitter account, which is a tremendous relief. As it tweeted: “The IPL 2023 championship game will now be played on May 29 at 7:30 PM IST at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Tickets purchased in person today will be valid tomorrow. Please keep the tickets secure and undamaged.”

According to the terms, a refund will be made if a particular match is either canceled or abandoned without a single ball being bowled and the refund may take up to 10 working days to reflect in your account.

Refunds (less any applicable administration fee, if any), will only be made if the Match is cancelled or abandoned without a single ball being bowled.

The final game was shifted to a reserve day for the first time in the tournament’s history. Earlier, the cut-off time was reported to have been moved to 12:26 am on the Twitter accounts of CSK and GT. The commencement of Super Over was scheduled to begin at 12:56 am.

What records might be achieved today?

The Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will square off in the IPL 2023 Final on Monday at 7:30 PM IST at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. The contest will be a great opportunity for CSK to tie Mumbai Indians for the joint-most trophies won and win a record-tying fifth championship.

With two championships GT will be the third most successful team in history along with Kolkata Knight Riders if it manages to hold onto its throne. In addition, following the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, they will be the third team to successfully defend a title.

Who will win the championship, if there is no game because of rain?

According to the playing regulations described in the previous IPL season, a full match would be possible if play starts by 9:35 PM IST. Furthermore, the clock for a five-over match continues until 11:56 PM IST. Even if that is not possible, they will choose by playing Super Over.

The Gujarat Titans will be crowned as the Champions if Ahmedabad’s weather prevents any Super Overs from taking place on Monday as they finished above CSK in the points table.
