Besides the retention and RTM options, the council has decided to continue the Impact Player rule and increase the team purse to Rs 120 crore, up from Rs 100 crore last year.

Additional Regulations
A new regulation has also been introduced regarding player status that is a capped Indian player who has not featured in international cricket for the last 5 years will now be considered uncapped.
Breakdown of Player Retention Rules
Here’s a breakdown of the new player retention rules ahead of the upcoming mega auction:
Teams are allowed to retain players, either through direct retention or using RTM.
A franchise can retain a maximum of 5 capped players, either Indian or overseas, and up to 2 uncapped players.
There are no restrictions on the number of overseas players that can be retained, meaning all five capped players could be from overseas.
Retaining players will reduce a team’s auction purse by Rs 18 crore, Rs 14 crore, and Rs 11 crore for the first three retentions. The cost for retaining a fourth and fifth player is Rs 18 crore and Rs 14 crore, respectively.
A new rule also states that any overseas player who does not register for the mega auction will be ineligible to participate in next year’s auction. If a player withdraws after being selected in the auction, they will be banned from the following two seasons.
