The IPL 2025 umpires list and salary details are now out

The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has implemented a novel technique this season.

The new technique by BCCI evaluates short deliveries for no balls and wides in an effort to make decisions in the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025 as near to 100% as feasible.

The IPL now permits fast bowlers to take two bouncers in an over. It is decided that the third is a no-ball. A ball is considered wide if it is above the batter’s head. The BCCI has expanded the procedure to include measures up to the shoulder and head as well, building on its creative method from IPL 2024 to evaluate waist-high full deliveries, which are frequently a source of disagreement, by determining each player’s waist height using a measuring tape.

“The measurement of the waist, shoulder and head height will be applied when the batter is standing upright in his popping crease. This data will then be fed into the system used by the hawk-eye operators, who sit with the third umpire (from the last season) to judge reviews of waist-high full tosses and bouncers for no balls/wides. This data will help in judging the waist-high full tosses and bouncers to a particular batsman better,” a source told.

In an effort to expose them to high-profile, high-pressure matches, the BCCI has added seven new India umpires for the 2025 Indian Premier League. Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Parashar Joshi, Anish Sahastrabuddhe, Keyur Kelkar, Koushik Gandhi, Abhijeet Bengeri, and Swaroopanand Kannur are among them.

A few days ago, UPCA also shared a post informing about Tanmay Shrivastava’s debut as an umpire in IPL.

The IPL 2025 umpires will be mentored by seasoned officials S Ravi and CK Nandan.

Michael Gough, Chris Gaffaney and Andrian Holdstock will be the 3 international umpires in IPL 2025.

Indian umpire Anil Chaudhary and former Sri Lankan off-spinner Kumar Dharmasena will not umpire in IPL this time. Anil Chaudhary will be seen doing commentary this time but no information has been received as to why Dharmasena will not be seen umpiring.

The salary of all umpires in IPL is not the same but depends on how much experience the umpire has, which match it is (knockout or league stage) and there is a huge difference in the salary of new and old umpires.

Many famous umpires including Nitin Menon, Bruce Oxenford get Rs 1.98 lakh for each match while less experienced umpires get Rs 59,000 for each match. It is said that an umpire can earn up to Rs 7,33,000 for umpiring in one season in the league.

Umpires in the IPL are divided into two categories, elite umpires and development umpires. Elite umpires are part of the elite panel of the International Cricket Council and these umpires umpire in international cricket matches while development umpires are junior umpires who come from the domestic circuit of India.

“Koushik Gandhi is a former Tamil Nadu player who has participated in 34 first-class matches,” according to a source. Although he is just in his second season as an umpire, he has advanced quickly through the ranks of women’s internationals, the Women’s Premier League, and now the Indian Premier League thanks to his outstanding performances.

BCCI announced cash reward

The award honours the men’s selection committee, coaching staff, support staff, and players for their achievements in helping the nation win another ICC championship.

India won the event with a string of dominant performances led by Rohit Sharma.
