What new changes will be in place for the 2024 Indian Premier League mini-action?
According to official schedule, the mini-auction for the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) is expected to take place in late December. Notably, BCCI will increase the budget for each franchise to an astounding $100 crore, which will bring an exciting development. After the conclusion of the ODI World Cup 2023, which will be held in India, the final date and location for the mini-auction will be revealed. Currently, numerous cities are competing to host the 2024 IPL auction and the top contenders are Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kochi, & Kolkata.
Additionally, there won’t be any limit on how many players can be retained by the franchise and this will mean a massive change ahead of the next mini-auction. Franchises will have the option to keep as many players as they want, which differs from prior seasons and increases the excitement and unpredictability of the bidding process. In addition, the representative stated that the auction will not take place on Christmas Eve because the planners wanted to find a convenient time for all parties involved.

According to expert opinion, some of the below mentioned players including MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, & Devon Conway will be retained by their respective franchises. Meanwhile, experienced players like Kane Williamson and Avesh Khan will be released for the auction.
