The starting salary for Developmental Officials is now Rs.59,000, which is a big jump from their old starting salary of Rs.40,000. Sponsorship deals boost salaries of IPL umpires beyond their base pay

The companies that support IPL umpires give them money on top of their salaries. Paytm was the official sponsor of the referees during the 14th season of the IPL. At the end of the season, each umpire got a check for Rs.7,33,000. This was a big raise from the previous season, when each match was sponsored for Rs.5,000.
