On the final day of the league round of the 2023 IPL, there was a lot of drama and entertainment.  Mumbai Indians earned a spot in the playoffs alongside Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants.

At the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, MI defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets to start the day, moving Royal Challengers Bangalore to fifth spot and moving MI up to fourth. RCB needed to defeat GT in the league’s final game to displace MI from the final playoff spot, but a loss meant they came in sixth.

Thanks to Cameron Green’s undefeated innings of 100 runs off 47 balls, MI quickly reached 201/2 in 18 overs while chasing a target of 201 runs. While all was going on, captain Rohit Sharma scored a crucial half-century, smashing 56 off 37 deliveries. Mayank Dagar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar each grabbed a wicket for the SRH bowling unit.
