The BCCI (Board of Contol for Cricket in India) announced the formation of 2 new teams in the IPL (Indian Premier League) on 25th October, Monday. The RPSG group, owned by Sanjiv Goenka won the bidding for the new Lucknow franchise in the Indian Premier League at the highest bid of a staggering Rs 7090 crores. With this bid, Sanjiv Goenka became the owner of the new Lucknow IPL team.
IPL 2022 New Teams
At second place, i.e. the second-highest bid which was that of Rs. 5625 crores was won by CVC Capital Partners, a private equity and investment advisory firm. This firm won the other new Ahmedabad team for the upcoming IPL 2022 season. The CVC group is known to have invested heavily in Formula One, also having been the former owners of F1.
