IPL 2022 Favorites To Win And Team Ranking
Listed below are the teams looking to run rampant in the IPL, and go all the way:
Chennai Super Kings
As reigning champions, the Super Kings will be looking to add another title to their list in the upcoming IPL. Chennai Super Kings have managed to win four titles in their 12 seasons of IPL action, the second most in the history of the competition.
The Yellow Army won 9 of their 14 games in the previous IPL tournament, including important victories over Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians and the Rajasthan Royals.
While the Super Kings finished the round robin stage in second position, their playoff form was what led them to the IPL title for the fourth time, beating the Delhi Capitals, and the Kolkata Knight Riders convincely.
Currently, online betting sites in India have indicated that they feel the Chennai Super Kings as favorites to be IPL champions once again.
Mumbai Indians
Next in the IPL title race conversation is the Mumbai Indians, who in 2020 became the second team in the history of the IPL to win back to back titles. After a disappointing campaign in 2021, the Indians will be looking to come back with a vengeance and go all the way in the 15th installment of this competition.
The Mumbai Indians have become one of the most consistent teams in the IPL, having come in the top 5 teams in the competition since 2010. In fact, the Indians have only dropped out of the top 5 once, back in 2009.
The Mumbai Indians are always capable of an upset, and will be looking to add yet another IPL title to their record.
Delhi Capitals
The next team to be entered into the IPL title conversation is the Delhi Capitals, who have performed consistently well over recent years, but have not managed to pull the trigger come playoff time.
The Delhi Capitals have yet to win an IPL, but over the last 3 seasons have shown some great promise, having finished third in 2021 and 2019, and then finishing second in 2020.
While the fact that they haven’t managed to win a competition yet may lead some to assume that they won’t compete for the title this year, but the fact that they’ve made it to the play off stages three years in a row shows just how much potential this team has.
The Delhi Capitals are set to face the Mumbai Indians on the 27th of March, which is set to be an absolute cracker.
What’s clear is that the this season’s installment of the IPL will not disappoint, and cricketing fans from all over the world wait with bated breath for the competition to start.
