Intercontinental Cup 2023: India vs Lebanon teams preview
India are currently the defending champions of the Intercontinental Cup having won the 2019 edition by beating Tajikistan 4-2. The Blue Tigers have done well in the competition starting out their title defense with two wins, against Mongolia 2-0 and Vanuatu 1-0. The goals came from Indian captain Sunil Chhetri and Bipin Singh.
Meanwhile, Lebanon have also managed to win their first two games, by beating Vanuatu 3-1 and Mongolia 1-0. The goals from those matches came from Hassan Maatouk, Hilal El-Helwe, and Mohamad Haidar. Aleksandr Ilic who is the Lebanese coach was also a teammate of Indian Coach Igor Stimac at Cadiz in 1994.
The ongoing tournament serves as an important practice for both teams as both India and Lebanon look forward to taking part in the SAFF championship in Bengaluru and the AFC Asian Cup later this year.

India and Lebanon have so far competed against each other in six matches where Lebanon have the superior record with three wins. Meanwhile, India have won only once and the other two matches have ended in draws.
