In keeping with this upward trend, Atletico de Madrid is now making its impact on Indian football once more, this time in partnership with Inter Kashi, a team based in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Inter Kashi is anticipated to formally file a request for participation in the second division of Indian football with intentions of entering the I-League.
After collaborating with Atletico de Kolkata and Jamshedpur FC in the ISL, this affiliation is Atletico de Madrid’s third with an Indian football team. In a formal statement, the Spanish club acknowledged this development and said the following:
Atlético de Madrid has reached an agreement with the RDB Group of Companies to collaborate in its project to create the first national football club in the State of Uttar Pradesh, which will be based in the capital, Varanasi. The new club, which is called Inter Kashi, has been officially presented this Thursday at the Taj Ganges Hotel in Varanasi.

Based in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, Inter Kashi is a professional football team in India. It was established in 2023 as a result of collaboration between European teams Atletico Madrid, Inter Escaldes, and FC Andorra, controlled by Gerard Piqué. It is known as the first professional club in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

According to reports, the squad will be managed by Spanishman Carlos Santamarina for its inaugural season. The Kolkata-based RDB Group, which seeks to have a solid footing in Indian football, is the owner of Inter Kashi.
