Indonesia Team Pulls Out Of Draw Of India Open 2022 Syed Modi International Badminton Tournaments 

The Indonesia badminton team has decided to withdraw ahead of the draw for the India Open 2022 Super 500 event

With the COVID-19 pandemic wrecking havoc across the world, the India Open also saw massive upheaval with the showpiece badminton tournament held in India called off in the last couple of years. However, after a hiatus, the showpiece Super 500 event makes a foray back into the world of badminton come 2022.

The India Open will thrown open the calendar for the BWF events come next year with the event in India being the first of a hectic calendar. However, even before the next year arrives and the draw for the India Open takes place, the Indonesia badminton team has decided to withdraw from the marquee competition.

Team Indonesia Pulls Out Of The Draw For The India Open 2022 Badminton Super 500 Event

The team has decided to not only pull out of the India Open but has also decided to backtrack from the entire tournaments to be conducted in the country. The side will also not be making its presence felt in the Syed Modi India International and Odisha Open citing health factors regarding players’ stamina and an inadequate recovery period.

The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) head of development Rionny Mainaky said, “The performance of the main team, second tier, and junior will likely not play at their maximum potential. They had just entered recovery from constant and high intensity tournaments from September to December.”

Mainaky also said that the Christmas and New Year’s holidays will have an effect on the athletes as training sessions will not be able to be held during the period with players at the PBSI headquarters in East Jakarta allowed to return home in the aftermath of the latest development.
