2024 Indonesia Masters latest results, day 2 schedule, date, venue, results, score, and Indian shuttlers’ performance
On Wednesday, Loh Kean Yew emerged victorious in a thrilling three-game encounter, securing his spot in the last 16 of the 2024 BWF Indonesia Masters held in Jakarta. Despite missing the previous week’s India Open due to illness, the Singaporean displayed no signs of health issues at the Istora arena as he faced India’s seventh seed, HS Prannoy. Loh’s next challenge will be either Su Li-Yang or Lee Cheuk Yiu.
Meanwhile, Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia advanced to the last 16 with a hard-fought victory against India’s Kidambi Srikanth. Although Lee narrowly lost the opening game, he staged a strong comeback in the second, scoring nine consecutive points and leveling the match. The decider initially remained close, with the score tied at 6-6, but Lee pulled ahead and secured a 19-21, 21-14, 21-11 victory. His next opponent is Ng Ka Long Angus from Hong Kong China.
Unfortunately, home hopeful Jonatan Christie faced a heartbreaking 78-minute defeat against Lu Guangzu. Despite winning the opening game, the fourth-seeded Christie was taken to three games, and Lu narrowly triumphed 19-21, 21-19, 21-19. On a positive note, Indonesia’s third seed Anthony Sinisuka Ginting advanced to the last 16 with a straight-games victory over Thailand’s Kantaphon Wangcharoen, securing a 21-13, 21-15 win.
