New Delhi, 18 November 2024 : After playing a key role in supporting India at the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics, the Indo-French Sports Association (IFSA) has initiated a transformative mission to elevate India’s sports ecosystem
With a focus on the 2036 Olympics and long-term goals for 2047, IFSA aims to strengthen the foundations of sports in India through innovation, collaboration, and development.
During a recent visit to India, IFSA President Mr. Rohit Sharma engaged with government officials, universities, and sports federations across multiple states to establish a detailed development plan. This initiative includes significant milestones, such as a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Union Territory of Ladakh, marking the beginning of IFSA’s efforts to advance sports in India.
Key Focus Areas
IFSA’s approach to transforming Indian sports involves the following core areas:
1.Grassroots Programs: Introducing sports education in schools and colleges to cultivate young talent and foster a culture of sports at the community level.
2.Modern Infrastructure: Building advanced, eco-friendly sports facilities that meet global standards, enabling athletes to train and compete effectively.
3.Global Expertise: Partnering with leading international clubs and organizations to provide Indian athletes and coaches with access to world-class training methods and technologies.
4.Streamlined Systems: Creating a professional sports management framework that promotes growth and generates employment in the sports industry.
5.International Opportunities: Connecting Indian athletes with global training programs and tournaments to prepare them for international success.
Ladakh: The First Step
The partnership with Ladakh is a cornerstone of IFSA’s mission. This initiative will focus on creating opportunities for young athletes in the region, improving access to high-quality training, and developing sustainable sports infrastructure. Ladakh will serve as a model for similar projects across India.
Working Together for Progress
IFSA’s vision is supported by partnerships with governments, private entities, and global organizations. These collaborations will create opportunities for India’s youth, ensure the growth of sports-related industries, and build a robust foundation for India’s future as a sporting powerhouse.

“India has immense potential in sports, and we are honored to contribute to its development. By combining grassroots initiatives, modern infrastructure, and global expertise, we aim to equip India for the 2036 Olympics and beyond.
