The 20-year-old then advanced to the semis of the Australian Open where she lost to one of the toughest opponents Danielle Collins.

Swiatek has faced some very tough competitors and finally won the title at the Qatar Open coming past three top 10 players. This makes her at too of the list to win the tournament.

2- Anett Kontaveit

Having already won three titles since her 2021 triumph at the Cleveland Open, the Estonian has been consistent with her outstanding form. Anett’s promising form was seen this year as well where she reached the top four in Sydney, where she lost to Krejcikova in a hard-fought clash. The player won the St. Petersburg title after a disappointing run in Australia and reached the final in Qatar but was defeated by Swiatek.

The first Grand Slam was the only tournament where she failed to be impressive by her performance. Looking at her strong form where she ended twice as a finalist and won five titles this year, makes her name in the top 5 list.

3- Jelena Ostapenko

Jelena Ostapenko started not so impressive but became better with her form where she reached the semifinals of the St. Petersburg tournament losing to not so easy opponent Kontaveit. The Latvian came past players like Sofia Kenin, Iga Swiatek, Petra Kvitova and Halep in Dubai Tennis Championship to reach the final and win the trophy in Dubai.

The tennis professional from Latvia advanced to the semifinals at Qatar but lost to Kontaveit again. The Indian Open 2021 semifinalist has experience of the level and she doesn’t look to attempt any mistake in Paribas this year.

4- Paula Badosa

The Spanish professional with her tough play has impressed everyone. The reigning Indian Wells champion has experience of the level and is back with very good form.

5- Simona Halep

Starting her season with a title at the Melbourne Summer Set as her 23rd career title, the Romanian lost in just the fourth round of the first Grand Slam against one of the toughest opponents Alize Cornet. She progressed to the last four of the Dubai Tennis Championship but got defeated by a tough contender Ostapenko. The tennis professional from Romania has faced some very tough players this season. Her improving form tells it won’t be easy to dominate her this time.
