1- Rafael Nadal

Do we need to say why Rafael Nadal is the number one favourite to grab the title? The Spaniard has not lost a single game and is unbeaten this year. Kicked off his tennis season with an ATP Summer Set trophy to win the first Grand Slam of the year in Australia. Coming to Mexico Open, Nadal did not drop a single set before he clinched the title comfortably against Medvedev, the Russian he faced for the second time this year after the Australian Open.

The 21-time Grand Slam winner has shown potential at this age with fire come back from injuries and seems like he is ready to win it all, which he skipped the previous year following injuries. Rafael Nadal is well motivated to extend his winning streak.

2- Daniil Medvedev

It was not just Nadal, who survived till last in Melbourne. The Russian came last some very tough opponents to reach the level including Rafa, whom he fought till the end in the five hours final match at the first Grand Slam. Medvedev’s run this year got him World No. 1 ranking and he seems to be one of the favourites to win the title.

Felix Auger-Aliassime starred his season with a title at the ATP Cup, where he powered Team Canada towards its first trophy of the tournament. The Canadian played a key role there with his countrymen Denis Shapovalov. He progressed until the quarter-finals of the Australian Open as his first time but lost to World No. 1 Medvedev. 4- Andrey Rublev

Testing positive for COVID-19 at the end of the 2021 season forced Rublev to stay indoors that hindered his practices for the 2022 season. He was then compelled to skip the kick-off tournament amd directly appeared at the Grand Slam in Melbourne. The Australian Open didn’t go well for him followed by his run at the Rotterdam Open where he was defeated in the semifinals by the winner Auger-Aliassime. He took revenge on the Canadian at the Open 13 Provence and won his first title of the season followed by his second in Dubai. The player since then has been improving and is unbeaten with a streak of 9 games. It will be tough for anyone to go past him.

5- Cameron Norrie

Norris did not start his season well but defiantly improved a lot later especially from the Mexican Open. The brit reached the quarterfinals of the Rotterdam Open. Britain’s Norrie has defeated some of the quality players this season so far and this makes him be added to the top 5 list.
