Indian Super League: List Of Previous Golden Glove Winners In The ISL Till Date

ISL 2021-22 is back with a bang and fans can’t wait to witness the footballing action get underway, know the list of the all the winners of the golden glove 

With the 8th edition of the Indian Super League just hours away from kicking off, we bring you the full list of golden glove winners of every season since the inception of India’s premier football league.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at the list of goalkeepers who kept the most number of clean sheets in each ISL season till date.

2014-15 Winner: Jan Seda

In the inaugural edition of the ISL, it was FC Goa’s Jan Seda who won the golden glove for six clean sheets in a total of 14 games. On the basis of minutes per goal conceded, the Czech Republic international is ranked second best amongst all goalkeepers who have won the golden glove.

2015-16 Winner: Apoula Edel

Edel played for Paris-Saint-Germain before he arrived to India to play for Atk in the ISL. However, he moved to Chennaiyin FC in the second edition and managed to keep six clean sheets in 13 games.

2016-17 Winner: Amrinder Singh

In the third instalment of ISL, Mumbai City FC’s goalkeeper Amrinder Singh bagged the best goalkeeper award with five clean sheet in just six games. And in terms of minutes per goal conceded, the Punjab-born player is ranked the best.

2017-18 Winner: Subrata Pal

Jamshedpur FC can thank their stars they had a star goalkeeper in their squad as Pal conceded less than a goal per game throughout the 18 appearances he made for the Red Miners. Easily one of the best goalkeepers India has ever seen, Pal made 44 saves and had seven clean sheets in the 2017-18 edition.

2018-19 Winner: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu

Not being able to lift the trophy in the final does push you to work toward redemption the next time round and that’s what went down when Gurpreet Singh Sandhu played a critical role in helping Bengaluru FC lift the ISL trophy in the 2018-19 season. Sandhu saved 61 shots in total and had seven clean sheets to his name.

2019-20 Winner: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu

Sandhu held on to the golden glove in the season following his first best goalkeeper award. By retaining the golden glove, Sandhu became the first goalkeeper in ISL to win the award twice. He kept eleven clean sheets and saved 49 shots in the 6th edition of ISL.

2020-21 Winner: Arindam Bhattacharya 

With some stiff competition from Mumbai City FC’s Amrinder Singh, it was ultimately ATK Mohun Bagan’s goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya who picked up his first golden glove in the 7th edition of the ISL. The 6’3 goalie conceded 19 goals in 23 games and had 10 clean sheets to his name by the end of the season.
