Indian Idol list of winners from season 1-13 and winner prize money

Some of the six seasons’ worth of Indian Idol winners have established careers in the country’s music business, while others have given up in favour of exploring other options. Here is a brief rundown of the Indian Idol winners and what they are now doing with the winner awarded Rs.25 lakhs.

Beginning with “Indian Idol,” the Indian music business has been blessed with some of the most stunning voices. Consider Monali Thakur, Shreya Ghoshal, and Arijit Singh. For its impartiality and acknowledgement of superior skill, the programme is consistently acknowledged and valued. 

Season 1- Abhijeet Sawant 

Abhijeet Sawant, who has a melancholy voice, won the first season of “Indian Idol” ever. Sonu Nigam, Farah Khan, and Anu Malik served as the show’s judges. He initially published “Aap Ka Abhijeet,” then “Junoon,” his second album. 

Season 2- Sandeep Acharya 

In addition to winning “Indian Idol 2,” Sandeep Acharya also signed a Rs 10 million deal with Sony BIG. Unfortunately, the actor passed away in December 2013 from jaundice. Then, he was 29 years old.

Season 3- Prashant Tamang 

Prashant Tamang, a singer from Nepal who was born in India, won the third season of “Indian Idol” in 2007.

Prashant worked with Sony BMG to develop his debut album, “Dhanyawaad,” which included songs in Hindi and Nepalese. For his concerts, Prashant also made a round-the-nation trip. Prashant has so far produced songs for the North-Eastern music business and worked on the films Gorkha, Paltan, Angalo Yo Maya Ko, and Kina Maya Ma.

Season 4- Sourabhee Debbarma 

ISourabhee Debbarma, who is from Tripura in North-East India, won the first-ever female Indian Idol contest in the fourth season. She is also the holder of the upside-down song singing Guinness World Record. 

Season 5- Sreerama Chandra Mynampati

Sreeramchandra Mynampati joined the list of Indian Idol winners as the first-ever South Indian. The talented vocalist gave up his singing profession to pursue a career in Telugu cinema. Prema Geema Jantha Nai directed by Subbu, marked his acting debut.

He is the only performer from Asia whose song from the Hollywood movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was used.

Season 60- Vipul Mehta 

Vipul Mehta won a $50,000 cash prize, a Nissan Micra car, a Suzuki Hayate motorcycle, and a recording deal with Sony BMG.

In the sixth season of “Indian Idol,” which aired in 2012, the classically trained vocalist took home the crown. He also made his debut album, Hello Namaste Sat Sri Akal, available, although sales weren’t great. The vocalist is still having trouble securing a respectable position in Mumbai’s playback singing profession.

Season 7 (Junior Season 1)-  Anjana Padmanabhan

Since it is a part of Indian Idol and debuted on Sony Entertainment Television on June 1, 2013, it is regarded as the 7th season of the programme. 

Anjana Padmanabhan, who was just 10 years old, was named the winner. She has almost 50K followers on Instagram and is highly active there. On social media, she frequently gives her followers a peek into both her personal and professional lives.

Season 8 (Junior Season 2)- Ananya Nanda

Ananya Nanda, an Odia native from Bhuwaneshwar, won Indian Idol Junior Season 2 on May 30, 2015. She earned her intermediate degree from KIIT International University, where she excelled academically. Now, she resides in Mumbai.

Season 9- L.V. Revanth

After a long four-year wait, “Indian Idol’s” ninth season finally premiered. By signing over 200 songs in Telugu and Kannada movies, L.V. has established his talent in the music business. He also won Superstar of the South, Rock Star, and Spicy Singer on Maa TV.

Additionally, Lolla Venkat garnered nominated for Best Male Playback Singer at the IIFA Utsavam and MAA Music Awards. L.V. has taken part in more than 11 reality TV programmes.

Season 10- Salman Ali 10 

Salman Ali won with a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh, a Dustan car, and a trophy. Salman Ali, who has a wonderful voice and singing ability, also finished as the Second Runner Up in “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.”

Salman also provided a voiceover for the TV programme “Chandragupta Maurya.” Salman, a native of Haryana, captured the nation’s attention with his stunning voice during season 10 of “Indian Idol.”

Season 11- Sunny Hindustani 

The Punjabi man who earlier worked as a shoe shiner on the streets and hailed from a very destitute family captured millions of fans’ hearts. He made his playback singing debut in the movie “The Body.”

He sang songs by the late famous Qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan during the competition, and several music experts have compared his voice to that of NFAK’s.

Season 12- Pawandeep Rajan

The winner of “Indian Ideal season 12” was 24-year-old Pawandeep from Uttarakhand’s Champawat region. 

He won “The Voice India” five years prior to winning Indian Idol 2021, a singing competition in which Himesh Reshammiya served as one of the judges. He claimed he was not feeling fantastic after winning “Indian Idol 12” since everyone deserves it.

Season 13 Of The Indian Idol

On September 10, 2022, the singing reality series Indian Idol from Sony TV resumed its 13th season. Five of the original 15 candidates on Indian Idol Season 13 have been eliminated, leaving the top 10 contestants still competing for the championship. Viewers will have to wait for a while for the winner of Season 13.
