Devika Vaidya began playing cricket when she was just seven years old. She was deeply saddened as she witnessed Steve Waugh announce his retirement in 2004. She then made the decision to live her life as a cricket player since she realised she wanted to be like him. Born on 13 August 1997, Devika is 25 years old. Her father name is Baghel Singh Deol while her mother is Charanjit Kaur Deol.

Her height is not known.

Even though she was on the bench for the 2018 T20 World Cup and repeatedly made it to the side, Devika, who made her T20I debut back in November 2014 against South Africa, never played in this format again for India. Between these times, Devika played 9 ODIs, collecting 169 runs and claiming 6 wickets, but she never again received a chance to play in a T20 match.

Devika Vaidya has only 10 international caps across formats despite making her India debut at the age of 17 eight years ago, and this is mostly due to no fault of her own. She was scheduled to return in March 2018 against Australia, but just before the squad was to be announced, she was diagnosed with Chikungunya. She had to be replaced as India A captain. Her dedication and struggle in guiding India on A and developing tours as well as competing at the domestic level have paid off, despite she represented India in a losing effort.

Devika led Australia to a 9-wicket victory by scoring 25 runs off 24 balls and claiming the sole wicket of Alyssa Healy.
